Job summary

The Metallurgical Engineer at thyssenkrupp Materials NA will support the concept, development, and design of large engine components, metallurgical processes, and sourcing validation.

This role partners with facility teams, product groups, global purchasing, and suppliers to provide technical metallurgical guidance, perform failure analysis of field and shop components, and drive quality improvement and supplier validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to self-start tasks.
• Strong customer interface and communication skills.
• Proficient technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on engine components and systems.
• Conduct product audits and metallurgical analysis of PPAP samples.
• Disposition components for metallurgical conformance.
• Collaborate with process partners to improve metallurgical processes and validate new suppliers.
• Evaluate feasibility and design compliance of new products, processes, or systems.
• Prepare and communicate results to internal customers, suppliers, team members, and business units.
