Job summary

Emerge is recruiting a direct-hire Process Engineer in Hampton, VA to own the metallurgical and materials characteristics of the investment casting process for development and production parts. You will develop and refine casting processes to maximize yield and minimize cost while meeting customer quality requirements, working closely with product engineers and the manufacturing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Metallurgical or Materials preferred.
  • At least 3 years in engineering and 3 years in manufacturing.
  • Metal Casting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistical/analytical tools.
  • 3D modeling and drafting experience or coursework.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; leadership a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering/manufacturing processes for maximum yield and lowest total cost while meeting quality standards.
  • Developing and troubleshooting processes for development and production parts.
  • Identify and implement continuous-improvement opportunities across existing processes.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and resolve engineering concerns.
  • Collaborate with product engineers and manufacturing teams hands-on.
  • Analyze data using statistical methods and present findings.
