Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler 1 to support plant operations. The role involves pulling, filling, cutting orders, and handling inventory and shipping tasks in a metals distribution setting.

You will operate cranes, forklifts and other heavy equipment, read work orders, verify material specs, and help maintain a safe, organized warehouse; prior warehousing experience and a valid license are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Experience in warehousing or material handling is preferred.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication; legible handwriting.
• Manual dexterity, coordination, and physical fitness to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints.
• Basic math and measurement skills, including fractions and conversions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and make sound decisions.
• Teamwork and collaboration with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks and customer vehicles, and maintain the warehouse.
• Receive and return items into stock locations.
• Read and decipher work orders; verify heat numbers and material specifications.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, side loaders, yard trucks, saws, and other heavy equipment as required.
• Place materials into storage or remove them for order fulfillment.
• Tag material for identification and complete documentation.
• Sort and place materials by size, type, or product code.
• Coordinate with team to ensure efficient and safe machine and equipment operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform spot checks on inventory and restock materials as needed.
• Drive company vehicle for local deliveries and parts pick-up (non-DOT).
