Job summary

Ryerson in Wellford, SC is seeking a Sales Engineer to engage with customers via phone and email, translating technical requirements into tailored metal product solutions. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to qualify needs, interpret CAD drawings, and craft pricing templates while ensuring quality and delivery expectations.

The role requires 1–3 years of metal industry sales experience, print reading ability, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
1–3 years of sales experience in the metal industry.
Print reading required; CAD or drafting experience is a plus.
Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
MS Office skills required, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

Interpret and qualify customer-provided documents such as prints, CAD files, and specifications.
Understand tolerances, materials, specifications, and processing options for metal supply chain decisions.
Manage part-specific supply chains with internal and external processing assets to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Estimate material, labor, and delivery options and develop contract pricing templates.
Evaluate sales proposals for technical accuracy and alignment with quality standards.
Conduct technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer-specific prices.
All other duties as assigned.
