Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a skilled Metal Refinisher in Houston, TX. You will buff, sand, strip, mask, paint, spray and finish surfaces to restore them to their best state.

Responsibilities include following work orders, using solvents and tools, and adhering to OSHA safety protocols. The role requires night shifts (4/5pm–2/3am) with occasional weekend work and potential travel in a company van with per diem and hotel accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work nights and occasional weekends.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Experience with buffing, sanding, stripping, masking, painting, spraying, and finishing.

Responsibilities

• Follow work orders and Lead Foreman directions to meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Work with solvents, chemicals, pneumatic and power tools safely.
• Follow OSHA safety protocols and company vehicle usage.
• Complete all safety and training modules.
• Occasional out-of-town travel in a company van with per diem and hotel arrangements.

Job Description:

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Metal Refinisher to bring their talent and craft to our expanding markets. As a refinisher, you'll be using your expertise in buffing, sanding, stripping, masking, painting, spraying and finishing techniques to restore surfaces to their best state.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for following work order instructions and Lead Foreman directions to ensure all jobs are completed to quality standards and in a timely manner
• Working with solvents, chemicals, pneumatic and power tools
• Follow all safety and OSHA related protocols, including the use of company vehicles
• Successfully complete all required safety and training modules
• Work nights (generally 4/5pm - 2/3am) with flexibility to work occasional days or weekends
• Occasion out of town travel (in company van, with daily per diem allowance & individual hotel)

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred
• Current and valid driver's license, with an insurable driving record
• Effective communication skills - both written and verbal
• Comfortable with heights and working in confined spaces
• Ability to kneel, squat, bend, lift, reach, climb and carry equipment up to 60lbs unassisted
• Spraying and oxidizing experience of any type
• High level of attention to detail/cleanliness
