Reworld Waste, LLC is seeking a Metal Recovery Technician in Newark, NJ to safely operate and maintain heavy industrial equipment involved in ferrous and non-ferrous recovery. The role requires mechanical aptitude, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include running and maintaining conveyors and cranes, performing lockout/tagout, and contributing to a safe, efficient recovery process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy industrial machinery.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and repair equipment for Residue, ferrous and non-ferrous systems, including ash/ferrous load-out via overhead crane.
• Record daily logs and monitor operation and maintenance of conveyors, motors, gearboxes and related equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance (gearbox/motor changes, belt changes, bearings).
• Operate front-end loaders and forklifts when required.

Apply today!**About the role**The duties of the Metal Recovery Technician include:The safe and efficient operation and mechanical repair of all equipment associated with the Residue, ferrous, and Non-ferrous systems including ash/ferrous load-out via overhead crane. The chosen candidate will also perform lockout and tagout of the ferrous and non-ferrous system as well as becoming proficient at the ferrous and ash crane load out process. Responsibilities consist of obtaining daily logs, monitoring the operation and maintenance of earth magnet conveyors, belt conveyors, motors and gearboxes, vibrating pans, grizzlies, screw conveyors, ECS magnets, drag conveyors, pug mills, ash sampling process and PLC control center. In addition the mechanical ability to perform preventative and corrective maintenance including gearbox and motor change outs, ECS and conveyor belt change out, roller & bearing replacement, screen and spring replacements, belt tracking, scraper adjustments or replacement, metal & rubber skirting replacement, guarding repairs & structural repairs. The ability to operate Front-end Loaders, Skid Steers, Man-lifts, Lull’s and Forklifts are a plus. Position Requirements:High School Diploma/GED is required. Candidate must have at least one year of previous experience in the operation of heavy industrial machinery or demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Duties require frequent and extended periods of outside and inside work, subject to all weather conditions and extremes; continuous walking, standing, climbing and frequent periods requiring sustained uncomfortable physical positions; regular and sustained periods of strenuous physical exertion, requiring the ability to lift, carry and position heavy objects utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques; operation of tools and equipment which cause loud noise and vibrations. Military or formal technical/apprentice training is desirable. Previous power plant / industrial experience is a plus. Welding in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW is a plus The ability to work various work shifts, nights and on weekends when required. Strong Safety awareness, leadership and motivational skills are a must.
