Job summary

Skyline Products, Inc. in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Metal Prep Technician for the TFC Division. You will operate shop cutting, CNC equipment and grinding tools to prepare metal materials per blueprints and work orders, ensuring precise sizing and clean edges before welding or assembly.

The day shift runs 7:30am to 4:00pm, with a full-time role offering competitive hourly pay as listed and benefits including health, retirement, life insurance, PTO, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience: 0–2 years in a manufacturing, warehouse, or metal shop environment.
• Math & measuring: read tape measure to 1/16" or 1/32" and basic shop math.
• Blueprint reading: interpret welding symbols, dimensions, and cut lists.
• Tool proficiency: experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Physical stamina: stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., in a noisy industrial setting.
• Safety gear: willingness to wear PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Shop Safety & Maintenance: maintain a clean area and follow OSHA guidelines.
• Read Blueprints & Measurements: interpret drawings and use measuring tools with precision.
• Operate Cutting Equipment: set up and operate saws, plasma cutters, or CNC cutters.
• Material Preparation & Deburring: grind and clean edges to remove burrs.
• Material Handling: move materials with cranes or forklifts.
• Quality Control: check dimensions against drawings and inspect surface quality.
