Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, LA is seeking an experienced Painter to prepare, mix and apply paints on various surfaces using airless and conventional spray methods. You will also assist with inventory management to keep supplies stocked for production needs.

The role requires 1+ years of metal painting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read a tape measure. You will work outdoors in varied conditions and follow all safety procedures within the paint department.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in metal painting in a production/manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for measurements.
• Able to operate respirators and PPE while painting.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix paints per specifications for color, texture and consistency.
• Apply paint using airless and conventional spray methods for a smooth finish.
• Perform metal finishing tasks to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Monitor inventory and requisition supplies to avoid delays.
• Measure paint thickness to meet standards.
