Job summary

Hamilton by Gunnebo is seeking a Grinder / Paint Preparation Operator to grind, sand, and finish metal components such as cabinets, doors, and drawer fronts for painting or powder coating.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should have basic reading of work instructions and a solid eye for surface defects.

You will contribute to smooth production, maintain clean workstations, and strictly follow PPE and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in metal fabrication, grinding, sanding, or finishing.
• Ability to read basic work instructions and production documents.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, and smooth metal surfaces using hand grinders, sanders, and other finishing equipment.
• Remove weld splatter, burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from fabricated metal products.
• Prepare cabinets, doors, drawer fronts, and other metal components for painting or powder coating.
• Inspect parts to ensure surfaces meet quality standards prior to painting.
• Follow established production schedules and meet daily productivity goals.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, including PPE.
• Assist with other production-related duties as assigned.
