Hamilton by Gunnebo is seeking a Grinder / Paint Preparation Operator in Milford, OH. The role focuses on grinding, sanding, and finishing metal components for painting or powder coating, ensuring surface quality by removing weld splatter and defects.

You will inspect parts and report issues while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. The position requires reading basic instructions, handling tools, and collaborating with the team to meet daily productivity goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in metal fabrication, grinding, or finishing preferred.
• Ability to read basic work instructions and production documents.
• Basic understanding of measuring tools and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, and smooth metal surfaces using hand grinders, sanders, and finishing equipment.
• Remove weld splatter, burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections.
• Prepare cabinets, doors, drawer fronts, and other metal components for painting or powder coating.
• Inspect parts to ensure surfaces meet quality standards prior to painting.
• Identify and report defects or nonconforming materials to supervision.
• Handle and move materials safely throughout the production area.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and equipment.
• Follow production schedules and meet daily productivity goals.
• Adhere to safety policies, including PPE use.
• Assist with other production-related duties as assigned.
