Job summary

Motis Manufacturing Center in Germantown, WI is seeking a metal finishing associate to polish, grind, and clean welded metal parts. The role includes deburring, minor final assembly, labeling for internal and external requirements, and performing final inspections to ensure conformance to standards.

You will verify dimensions using measuring tools, keep the workspace tidy, and collaborate with welders and QC staff to meet specifications while following lean processes and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Polishes, grinds and cleans metal surfaces.
• Removes excess weld as needed.
• Cleans welds to remove discoloration.
• Removes sharp edges by deburring.
• Performs minor final assembly work.
• Adds product labels for internal and external requirements.
• Performs final inspection to ensure product conformance to internal and external standards.
• Uses measuring tools and other equipment to verify the dimensions, tolerances, and other critical features of the product.
• Keeps work area organized and clean.
• Maintains tools and tooling inventory.
• Performs assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner that does not expose yourself or other employees to unnecessary risk of injury.
• Follows and participates in lean processes and kaizen events regarding manufacturing process.
• Follows all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
• Collaborates with other team members, such as welders and quality control personnel, to ensure that the aluminum welded products are produced to the required specifications and quality standards.

Job Shift: 12 Hour Weekend (Fri-Sun, 6am-6pm)

Key Responsibilities

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to stoop, bend and kneel, squat, kneel and pull.
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs.
• Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
• Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate equipment.
• Standing, sitting and walking.
• Performing repetitive motions.
