Metal Finisher (Albany, OR) (Finance)

Aerospace Metals Finisher - Titanium Aerospace Parts Production - Swing Shift, Weekend Day Shift

Primary Purpose:

The Finisher I removes imperfections and defects from titanium castings using various grinding tools and techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate pneumatic hand grinders to remove imperfections and grind castings into position or dimension.
• Inspect work using measuring tools to ensure requirements are met.
• Operate belt grinding machines to surface grind and blend welds on castings.
• Measure parts and visually inspect castings for defects, marking them appropriately.
• Work with casting fixtures from the dimensional department.
• Ensure appropriate paperwork accompanies castings before and after processing.
• Maintain a clean and safe workstation.
• Assist or train Finisher I personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Ability to interpret dimensional tools such as UT, calipers, and dyers.
• Ability to follow written instructions from tech cards, routers, blueprints, and other documents.
• Maintain continuous mental and visual attention to detail.
• Good attendance record.
• Ability to meet quantity and quality requirements.
• Team player with self-motivation.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions from trainers or supervisors.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience considered if not met.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Solid job history with more than 1 year at previous or recent employers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.

Environment:

Work performed under reasonably good conditions with some exposure to noise, temperature, and machinery.

Schedule:

• Swing Shift (Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:30 am) with $1.00/hr shift differential.
• Weekend Day Shift (Friday-Sunday, 5:00 am - 5:30 pm) with $1.25/hr shift differential.
