Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking a Metal Finisher for the 1st shift at our Vadnais Heights location. The role involves grinding burrs and finishing surfaces per specifications, with emphasis on blueprint interpretation and careful setup of production tasks.

We require a high school diploma or equivalent and prefer manufacturing/metal fabrication experience. This full-time, on-site position offers competitive pay, full benefits, and PTO/Holiday pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing/Metal Fabrication experience preferred.
• Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Perform repetitive work for up to 10 hours per day.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Grinds out burrs and sharp edges, using hand tools and portable grinders.
• Finish part to specification critical surfaces with hand tools portable grinders, Timesaver, Loewer and Straight Liner.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading/ geometric tolerancing interpretation.
• Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine the finish condition of work pieces, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance (Lubricate) functions on equipment.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunction such as worn or damaged finishing tools.
• Transact all appropriate labor and materials required for the job into ERP system.
• Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
