Job description

Overview

Our growing company is seeking to hire a Metal Finisher at our Mayville, WI location. As an employee/owner at MEC, you will sand and grind metal parts to achieve a finish ready for painting, plating, and as required by the customer.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting up the work area for part handling and positioning for ergonomic access to surfaces needing sanding and grinding
• Handling sheet metal components from incoming load to worktable or fixture, performing finishing work, inspecting finish quality, and packing parts correctly for outgoing load
• Setting up tables, supports, and curtains as needed
• Inspecting parts visually and by touch for defects such as dents, scratches, or breaks
• Removing dents, weld welts, and performing limited tack welding for welded joints finishing
• Maintaining air tools and other equipment, including cleaning and oiling
• Cleaning the work area at the end of each shift
• Reading prints, drawings, and specifications, and utilizing sample parts for operations
• Following procedures and receiving feedback on work quality
• Using tools like dual action sanders, grinders, abrasive cut-off wheels, plasma cutters, wire brushes, and belt sanders to perform sanding, grinding, and cutting in compliance with drawings
