Job summary

Damotech in Missouri seeks a skilled machinist/assembler who uses dies, blades, cutters and fixtures to set up and run precision machining operations on metal workpieces. You will adjust ram pressure, blade angles and speeds, clamp stops and guides, and verify dimensions with gauges and templates.

This role involves positioning the workpiece, starting the machine, evaluating performance, repositioning dies, and inspecting completed parts.

Qualifications

• Experience using dies, blades, cutters and fixtures with hand-tools and gauges.
• Ability to read gauges and use templates for precision measurement.
• Willingness to learn forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine, using rule, square, shims, templates, hand-tools, and built-in gauges.
• Positions and clamps stops, guides, and turntables.
• Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors, such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed.
• Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on work piece, using instruments, such as rule and compass, or by tracing from templates.
• Positions work piece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades
• Starts machine and evaluates machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes.
• Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates.
• Forklift training will be provided.
