Job summary

Tiara Yachts in Holland, MI is seeking a Metal Fabricator who will construct jigs and fixtures for the manufacturing process with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to develop solutions, weld and assemble jigs, reinforcements for molds, and manage department supplies; must be proficient in MIG welding, have trade school welding education, and be fluent in English.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing process.
• Trade school/college education - welding.
• Proficient in MIG welding.
• Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues.
• Familiar with metal working tools including: horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, belt, grinder.
• Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift.
• Experience with hand tools including: drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, sander, etc.
• Knowledge of basic shop math.

Responsibilities

• The Metal Fabricator works closely with manufacturing engineering team to research and develop creative and effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects.
• The Metal Fabricator, along with manufacturing engineering team, develops methods to improve department operation and overall operation of the manufacturing process.
• Weld & fabricate metal reinforcements for various production molds.
• Weld & assemble a variety of jigs, fixtures used in manufacturing.
• Order and maintain department supplies.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process
  • Trade school/college education - welding
  • Proficient in MIG welding
  • Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues

  • Knowledge of basic shop math
• Experience With the Following is a Plus:
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus
  • Excellent team and communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic woodworking machines: table saw, band saw, radial arm saw
  • 1-3 years experience reading blueprints
  • Boat assembly experience is a plus
  • TIG, pulse, and flux core is a plus
