Job summary

Scion Steel Inc. is seeking a dedicated Steel Fabricator to turn raw steel into finished parts and structures through cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling with high quality. You will read blueprints, set up welding equipment, and inspect parts for accuracy according to specifications.

Candidate should have 2+ years in a steel fabrication facility, AWS D1.1 certificate, and experience with forklifts and overhead cranes. Expect 8–10 hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience in steel fabrication.
• AWS D1.1 welding certificate or equivalent.
• Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Capable of reading and understanding build prints.
• Proficient in use of hand plasma and angle grinder.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine requirements.
• Set up and operate welding equipment.
• Inspect finished fabricated parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Prepare materials by measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces before clamping and welding pieces together.
• Perform welding operations in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as needed.
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, to move and position steel.

Position/Title: Steel Fabricator

Experience: GMAW and Fabrication: 2+ years

Reports to: Plant Manager

We are looking for a dedicated Fabricator to add to our team, whose expertise transforms raw steel into finished parts and structures. Through precise cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling, they bring architectural and engineering plans to life with exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine requirements.
• Set up and operate welding equipment
• Inspect finished fabricated parts for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols and always wear appropriate protective gear.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Prepare materials by measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces before clamping and welding pieces together.
• Perform welding operations in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) as needed
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as cranes and forklifts, to move and position steel.

• 8-10 hour shift
• Morning Shift: 6:00am – 4:30pm Evening shift: 4:00pm – 2:30am
• Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday.
