Job summary

Jobot in Morristown, TN is seeking a Production Assembler to read job specifications and determine material requirements, then assemble metal components with precision.

You will set up and operate fabricating equipment, measure parts with tape measures and gauges, verify tolerances, and support quality inspections to meet customer standards. We offer full benefits, PTO, 401(k) matching, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of prior experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent reading, math and problem-solving skills required.
• Must be able to use and read a tape measure.
• Ability to understand assembly manuals, directions, and the use of diagrams and sketches.
• Ability to read and understand tape measures, blueprints, drawings and technical plans.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform accurate work at a rapid pace.
• Ability to use power or hand tools to cut, shim, and make other modifications.
• Good eyesight, with or without glasses, is required for assemblers and fabricators who work with small parts.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to carry out complex, repetitive tasks quickly and methodically.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Develops layout and plans sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling metal products.
• Examines metal stock or work pieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Determines tools and equipment needed; sets up and operates fabricating machines.
• Sets up and operates machine tools; positions stops or guides to length as indicated by measurement tools.
• Measures work piece dimensions to verify accuracy of operation.
• Performs minor machine maintenance.
• Assists machine operators to set up machine and transport finished work pieces.
• Conducts tests and inspections to evaluate quality or performance; ensures customer service standards.
