Job summary

Galleher Industries in Kaufman, TX seeks a Metal Supervisor to lead daily metal production and perform fabrication work alongside the crew. You will direct personnel, assign work, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while setting up and operating fabrication equipment and reading prints.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to read drawings, and hands-on troubleshooting. This is a full-time, in-person position with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least three years in metal fabrication or manufacturing, including machine operation.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience assigning work and training staff.
• Experience operating fabrication equipment such as press brakes, roll formers, shears, punches, saws, or plasma cutting equipment.
• Ability to read prints and work orders, use precision measuring tools, and inspect work against dimensional and workmanship requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with changeovers, making machine adjustments, and performing basic troubleshooting. Welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily metal production while working alongside the team to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost targets.
• Assign employees to jobs and equipment, communicate priorities, schedule changes, safety concerns, and quality requirements.
• Train and coach employees on equipment operation, setup, print interpretation, inspection methods, safe work practices, and standard processes.
• Set clear expectations, address attendance or performance concerns, and involve the General Manager when needed.
• Review work orders, prints, job travelers, bills of material, and production schedules before work begins and resolve unclear information.
• Set up, operate, and adjust press brakes, roll formers, shears, punches, saws, laser equipment, and related machinery.
• Complete inspections and document nonconforming work; stop and contain issues as needed.
• Monitor labor, material flow, equipment availability, and quality records; ensure records are accurate.
• Support preventive maintenance, tooling care, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting; escalate equipment concerns.
• Maintain safe, organized work areas and enforce PPE and handling procedures.
