Job summary

Metalcrafters NC in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a dependable Shop Crew Member to join our fabrication team. You’ll help build miscellaneous metal products from drawings, using hand and power tools, welders, and fabrication equipment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and level.
• Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to think quickly and problem-solve when challenges arise.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate miscellaneous metal products according to approved shop drawings and project requirements.
• Assist with the fabrication of stairs, handrails, guardrails, gates, ladders, and other custom metal products.
• Complete assigned fabrication tasks accurately and efficiently according to the intended design and drawings.
• Read and understand shop drawings and identify the information needed to complete assigned work.
• Accurately read and use a tape measure and level.
• Safely operate assigned shop tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment.
• Measure, fit, assemble, and prepare fabricated components as required.
• Work efficiently with other shop team members to keep production moving.
• Follow direction from Department Leads and the Shop Manager.
• Maintain assigned PPE, tools, and equipment.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Keep shop drawings organized and in good condition throughout fabrication.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to begin work.
• Demonstrate the Metalcrafters Core Values and maintain a positive, can-do attitude each day.
