Job summary

Merritt Trailers is seeking a Fabrication Sheet & Plate Generalist to join their Henderson, Colorado fabrication team. This onsite, night shift role offers a 4-month contract-to-hire arrangement with potential for permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or metalworking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and setup fabrication equipment including press brakes, hydraulic shears, ironworkers, and milling machines.
• Read work instructions, measurements, and specifications to produce quality parts.
• Perform material handling, layout work, cutting, bending, punching, and forming operations.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure finished products meet standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues using critical thinking.
• Cross-train on multiple fabrication machines and support production needs.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and deadlines.

Night/Swing Shift

• Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
• Four 10-hour shifts (Tuesday-Friday)
• Hours: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
• Overtime opportunities available on a 5th day and Saturdays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have experience with one or more of the following:

• Press brake setup and operation
• Hydraulic shear operation
• Ironworker equipment
• Manual milling or machining equipment
• Sheet metal or plate fabrication
• Blueprint reading and fabrication measurements
