Job summary

Merrill Steel is seeking a Machine Operator for our Schofield facility. You will set up and operate machinery to saw, cut, bend and shape metal, with exposure to overhead cranes and heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. Night shifts include a $1.60 premium and Friday opportunities. Weekends are not required.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate blueprint reading, and operating multiple machines with a team-first attitude. We value reliability and steady production on both shifts.

Qualifications

• Reads fractions and tape measures accurately.
• Reads basic blueprints to plan work.
• Operates Hill Acme Punch, drills and shear; performs layout.
• Operates burn table and angle line, and punch combo saws.
• Maintains acceptable quantity of work for entry level.
• Operates manual saws as required.
• Follows safety rules and PPE protocols.
• Receives and follows instructions with a positive work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery to saw, cut, shear, slit, drill, punch, crimp, notch, bend or straighten metal.
• Use overhead crane and rigging per safety rules.
• Lift materials up to 75 lbs as required.
• Maintain safe, efficient production and quality output.
• Communicate with team and supervisor to ensure workflow.
