Race Rock Group is seeking a hands-on shop worker to assemble metal structures on the shop floor and operate a range of hand and power tools. The role emphasizes adherence to safety, quality standards, and accurate material handling, with pay starting at $17.00/hour based on experience.

Responsibilities include bolting assemblies, trimming metal with files, reporting defects, crane operation, welding prep, galvanizing touch-ups, drilling, and general shop cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education or up to 1 month related experience.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
• Report defects or safety issues to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assemble structures with bolts using the correct procedure.
• Remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to fit parts.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
• Operate the crane to move material.
• Operate grinders and other power tools to prep material for welding.
• Touch up galvanizing defects and sharp edges.
• Drill holes in products per specifications.
• Sweep areas to keep the shop clean.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety regulations.
