Whirlwind Steel is hiring a Manufacturing Draftsman for the PMFG division. You will ensure accuracy of project drawings and specifications, collaborating with team members to prepare details for quoting and manufacturing.

The role emphasizes precision and coordination across departments. Responsibilities include reviewing technical drawings, verifying weights, organizing shop details, and updating drawings as materials or methods change.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience as a draftsman or similar role.
• Proficiency with CAD software, especially AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of metal building manufacturing processes and fabrication.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of metal building standards related to drafting and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Review customer technical drawings and schematics using company software.
• Verify weights and ensure prices are included on relevant details.
• Organize and provide copies of parts not readily available in the shop with shop details.
• Review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specs.
• Update drawings to reflect changes in materials or production methods.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and objectives.
