Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an MD/MD-PhD with industry or senior academic experience to lead metabolism-focused clinical research programs. You will direct late-stage development, design and monitor trials, and analyze data to inform regulatory decisions and publications.

Senior candidates will coordinate internal and external teams, contribute to BD assessments, and represent the company at scientific meetings, while ensuring rigorous scientific standards and global collaboration.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD with industry or senior academia experience.
• 3+ years clinical medicine; 3–5 years industry drug development or biomedical research in academia.
• Proven success overseeing clinical studies/protocols; scientific scholarship; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct clinical research activities for metabolism-focused medicines, prioritizing MASH and obesity-related disorders.
• Lead full late-stage development: strategy, design, initiation, execution, analysis, regulatory reporting and publication.
• Plan and monitor clinical trials, including operational plans and trial settings.
• Analyze findings to support safety/efficacy decisions, NDA/CSRs, and publications.
• Assess preclinical/translational work for early clinical plans and INDs.
• Participate in internal and external project teams; support BD assessments.
• Identify investigators, attend scientific meetings, and maintain knowledge base.
• Prepare development documents, presentations, budgets, and position papers; enable global collaborations.
