Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares samples for analysis/examination and carries out complex metallurgical services with minimal supervision.
• Performs mechanical tests such as hardness testing, tension, and resistivity on specialized equipment.
• Performs metallographic and magnetic tests using etchants, polishing equipment and metallographic apparatus.
• Collects and records test data obtained during evaluation and makes recommendations based on data.
• Directs, trains, and coordinates day-to-day activities of the Met Lab within the testing area.
• Develops knowledge of testing procedures in other areas and may perform testing in those areas.
