Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a Transport/Admitting staff member in the Bronx, NY. The role involves transporting patients, specimens, and pharmaceutical goods across the Medical Center, maintaining rolling stock and stretchers, and supporting clerical record-keeping.

The position requires High School completion, 1–3 years of related experience, and English literacy. OHS Fit Test and Annual Assessment are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, specimens, and pharmaceutical goods throughout the Medical Center, ensuring safety and timeliness.
• Routinely collects and maintains wheelchairs and stretchers; keeps rolling stock clean and operational.
• Maintains clerical records and log sheets accurately and timely as needed.
• Maintains and operates the pneumatic tube system when necessary and ensures transfers are completed 100% in compliance with standards.
• Provides assistance in emergency situations in a timely and reliable manner.

Job Summary
Transport patients, specimens and pharmaceutical goods throughout the Medical Center. Maintain rolling stock, wheelchairs and stretchers.

Essential Functions

• 1. Transports patients, specimens and pharmaceutical goods throughout Medical center. * Assigned transports are completed safely, efficiently and within established time frames.
• 2. Routinely collects and maintains wheelchairs and stretchers (including cleaning). * Rolling stock is clean and operational.
• 3. Maintains clerical records as needed. * Log sheets are completed accurately and timely.
• 4. Maintains and operates pneumatic tube system when necessary. * Completes transfers of pneumatic tube timely and efficiently. 100% compliance to departmental standards.
• 5. Perform related duties as required. * Assistance is provided in emergency situations on a timely and reliable basis.
