Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that powers satellite production operations in Bellevue, WA. You will design, implement, and deploy MES software handling work orders, routing, data collection, traceability and production analytics.

You will build integrations with shop floor control systems (Ignition) and enterprise systems (ERP/PLM), enforce manufacturing processes, and develop APIs to support production teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MES features including work order management, routing, recipe management, data collection, and traceability.
• Build and maintain integrations between MES and shop floor control systems (e.g., Ignition) for real-time data exchange.
• Develop integrations between MES and ERP/PLM/quality management platforms.
• Implement manufacturing process enforcement logic to ensure correct sequencing and validations.
• Create data pipelines and reporting for production analytics, KPI dashboards, and yield tracking.
• Develop and maintain MES APIs and services for production teams.
• Write production-quality code following team standards and best practices.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for MES services.
• Troubleshoot MES production issues, perform root cause analysis, and deploy fixes.
• Support MES upgrades, migrations, and configuration changes.
• Develop automated testing frameworks for MES features.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning.
• Contribute to MES documentation and runbooks.
• Support UAT with manufacturing end-users.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
