Job summary

Brilliant is seeking an MES Project Lead to oversee MES initiatives, coordinating with IT, operations, engineering and vendors to deliver implementations and improvements. The role requires strong project management experience in manufacturing settings and understanding of MES integration with ERP and WMS.

Onsite in Newnan, GA for the first 90 days, then a hybrid arrangement with three on-site days per week based on performance.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of project management experience in manufacturing systems.
• Experience leading MES implementations and integrations.
• Familiarity with ERP/WMS interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead MES implementation and enhancement projects from planning through deployment, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget.
• Serve as the primary PM between manufacturing operations, IT, business stakeholders, and software vendors.
• Coordinate MES integration with ERP, WMS, and other manufacturing applications.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risks, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Facilitate project meetings, status updates, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications.
• Translate business requirements into functional project deliverables.
• Coordinate UAT, system validation, training, and production cutover activities.
• Manage implementation partners and vendors to ensure milestones are achieved.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and system utilization.
• Support post-implementation stabilization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain project documentation and governance standards.

Position Summary

The MES Project Lead will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) initiatives supporting manufacturing operations. This role will partner with IT, operations, engineering, and third-party vendors to successfully deliver MES implementations, enhancements, integrations, and continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate has experience managing manufacturing technology projects and understands how MES integrates with ERP, WMS, and shop floor systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead MES implementation and enhancement projects from planning through deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Serve as the primary project manager between manufacturing operations, IT, business stakeholders, and software vendors.
• Coordinate the implementation and integration of MES with ERP, WMS, and other manufacturing applications.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risks, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Facilitate project meetings, status updates, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications.
• Partner with operations and engineering teams to gather business requirements and translate them into functional project deliverables.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation, training, and production cutover activities.
• Manage implementation partners and vendors to ensure deliverables and milestones are achieved.
• Identify process improvement opportunities that increase manufacturing efficiency and system utilization.
• Support post-implementation stabilization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain project documentation, change requests, and project governance standards.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• 5–8 years of project management experience supporting manufacturing systems or enterprise application implementations.
• Experience managing Manufacturing Execution System (MES) projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with MES platforms such as Apriso, Tulip, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, or similar solutions.
• Experience coordinating integrations between MES, ERP, WMS, and other enterprise applications.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects involving manufacturing, IT, engineering, and external vendors.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production workflows, and shop floor processes.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams.
• Ability to identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation plans.
• PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
