Job summary

Form Energy, based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, is seeking a seasoned MES Engineer to lead a team of MES Technicians and own the reliability, maintenance, and day-to-day optimization of the factory software suite. You will act as the essential translator between the manufacturing floor and core development teams, partnering with Controls and SCADA teams to ensure peak throughput.

Relocation assistance is available and candidates should have 6+ years in industrial automation or MES

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial automation, manufacturing execution systems, or plant software environments.
• 2+ years of experience hiring, leading, and developing a team of technicians or technical specialists.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working on a fast-paced manufacturing floor alongside operators and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Floor-Level Software Sustaining: manage a team of MES Technicians for day-to-day support of plant software suite (MES, QMS, WMS, ERP).
• Cross-Functional Triage & Troubleshooting: partner with Controls, Robotics, and SCADA to triage and resolve complex issues.
• Bridge to Core Dev Teams: collaborate with core software teams to scale bugs, test patches, and deploy optimization tools.
• Operational Alignment: coordinate daily with Production, Quality, and Logistics to ensure smooth manufacturing workflows.
• Continuous Improvement: identify optimization opportunities and apply minor software/configuration adjustments.
• Resource & Support Planning: manage scheduling for 24/7 manufacturing operations.
• Team Development: mentor MES Technicians and set performance goals.
