Job description

Description

At Huntington, we are building the nation’s leading People First, Customer-Centered bank. As part of the Corporate Development team, you will be at the heart of our journey as we source, analyze, and execute enterprise-wide M&A initiatives. As a Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst, you will work with the deal team to identify potential opportunities, model the impact of proposed transactions, and support due diligence efforts as we build upon Huntington’s capabilities and scale. The team develops Huntington's M&A strategy by working closely with the board, executive leadership, segment partners, and external advisors.

  • We are seeking highly motivated, early career candidates eager to learn through direct exposure to all aspects of the M&A process—from initial interest assessment to deal announcement and legal close.
  • This position offers top-tier visibility, providing opportunities to collaborate with senior professionals across the organization.
  • As an early career candidate, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across disciplines such as finance, credit, HR, and risk, building an executive-level understanding of bank performance.
  • Leveraging sell-side research, regulatory disclosures, and alternative data sources, you will prepare detailed analyses and make recommendations to management.
  • Due to the dynamic nature of M&A assignments, the work environment is project-oriented, with activities evolving in response to macroeconomic conditions.
Basic Qualifications
  • 0 to 4+ years of professional experience, with prior work in financial services preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Additional Skills and Experience

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and meet demanding deadlines through coursework, internships, or work experience. Strong presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills are required. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail are essential. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is preferred; experience in financial modeling is a plus. Candidates should have an active interest in financial services and markets.
