Job summary

Esquire Bank is hiring an analyst to daily review merchant credit card processing applications from agents and ISOs. You verify documentation, perform data entry, and communicate status. You will support risk managers and underwriters to ensure compliant, timely decisions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication. Hours are full-time, Mon–Fri, 8:30 am–5:30 pm in Jericho, NY.

Job description

Basic Function: The Individual is responsible for the daily review of merchant credit card processing applications received from agents and independent sales organizations (ISOs) on behalf of businesses seeking to process payments for goods and services. Applications are reviewed to verify completeness of required documentation. The analyst has authority to make approval decisions within their designated authority level. A daily log is updated, and status is communicated to agent or ISO.

• Perform data entry and quality controls on submitted merchant applications.
• Review accounts submitted by ISOs and agent partners in accordance with the Bank's merchant policies.
• Recommend risk mitigation techniques to minimize financial loss exposure to the Bank when creating and/or approving proposed risk structures for a merchant account.
• Work with ISO underwriters and risk managers to manage the risk structure imposed on accounts.
• Provide operational assistance to the Merchant Services Department, including reviewing merchant transaction activity that exceeds thresholds established at the time of underwriting.
• Track and follow up on status of all pending accounts weekly to ensure accounts are not processing without proper approval.
• Provide various reporting to management and other duties and projects as assigned.
• Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with federal, state and Bank Secrecy Act regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred – comparable educational and/or work experience will be considered.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively to management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking skills and attention to detail are essential, as senior leadership relies on the accuracy of this work.
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and remain detail-oriented.

• Proficiency with MS Excel.

Estimated Salary Range:

• $70,000 - $85,000 / year
• Compensation may vary based on education, skills, qualifications and/or expertise.
