Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Finance Analyst for a long-term contract in Tempe, AZ (also Des Moines, IA or Irving, TX) with hybrid work. You will evaluate pricing opportunities, partner with Sales and RM teams, and analyze financial data to guide pricing decisions and profitability.

The role emphasizes data-driven recommendations, attention to detail, and collaboration across Finance, Sales, Operations and Risk teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Finance experience or equivalent.
• Experience in Merchant Services, Payments, or related analytics.
• Proficient in data analysis, reporting, and modeling with Excel.
• Familiarity with pricing concepts and cost structures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pricing opportunities and support decisions impacting profitability and client relationships.
• Analyze pricing requests with Sales and Relationship Managers and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Evaluate transaction volume, trends, seasonality, and cost structures to balance pricing and profitability.
• Collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment to deliver Finance deliverables.
• Contribute to moderately complex Finance initiatives and planning.

Seeking a Merchant Services Deal Pricing Analyst

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in Merchant Services, Payments, Financial Services, Operations, Pricing, Finance, or a related analytical field.
• Experience analyzing data and making recommendations based on financial, operational, or business insights.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple requests and meet established deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and modeling.
• Exposure to pricing, financial analysis, revenue analysis, or profitability assessment.
• Basic understanding of merchant pricing concepts, including interchange, assessments, processing fees, and related cost structures.
• Experience working with pricing, reporting, or business intelligence tools.

• In this role, you will help evaluate pricing opportunities and support decisions that directly impact client relationships, profitability, and business growth.
• You will partner closely with Merchant Services Sales and Relationship Managers to analyze pricing requests, assess financial impacts, and provide data-driven recommendations.
• By evaluating merchant business characteristics such as transaction volume, processing trends, seasonality, and cost structures, you will help balance competitive client pricing profitability, risk, and compliance objectives.
• This role is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working with data, solving business problems, and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Finance and contribute to large-scale planning related to Finance deliverables.
• Review and analyze moderately complex Finance challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Finance deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with client personnel in Finance.
