Job summary

Cart.com seeks a detail-oriented MoR Accountant to own end-to-end Merchant of Record operations, ensuring payment processing integrity, settlements accuracy, and tax compliance across multiple brands.

The role requires 3–7 years in payments or accounting within e-commerce or SaaS, strong SQL/Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. A US-based candidate will support robust financial controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Three to seven years of experience in payments operations, merchant services, accounting, or related field in e-commerce/ SaaS.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, merchant accounts, and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support.
• Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting and operational oversight of Merchant of Record activities across supported brands.
• Review, validate, and approve high-value transactions and settlements.
• Monitor and resolve payment exceptions, settlements, holds, and refunds.
• Maintain rigorous transaction-level review processes to minimize errors and revenue leakage.
• Partner with payment providers and external vendors to support compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
