Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Joliet, IL to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and driving merchandising and freight processing. You will assist with all store functions, open/close procedures, asset protection, floor and backroom maintenance, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

This role also involves planning and executing monthly sales activities, coordinating merchandise needs, and upholding company standards

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Open and close procedures as needed.
• Protect company assets, including store cash.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process freight and manage freight flow.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen & refrigerated.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective and properly merchandised.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
