Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to work alongside the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering excellent customer experiences.

You will focus on merchandising, processing freight, and daily store operations, including opening/closing, asset protection, and policy adherence. This role demands strong communication, teamwork, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards.
• Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and other communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash, ensuring neat presentation.
• Provide positive, safe, and respectful interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Other duties as assigned; support Store Manager with additional tasks.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise; Manage freight flow per productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items, per productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective and merchandise planning with clips/power panels.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
