Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. in Wake Forest, NC is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and delivering engaging shopping experiences.

You will focus on merchandising and processing freight to keep shelves stocked and attractive. The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with the ability to lift 30-50 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Retail or management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Other duties as assigned*.
• Process the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards.
• Stock merchandise including frozen & refrigerated, per standards.
• Ensure that the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
