Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Glen Ellyn to support the Store Manager in leading a team and delivering positive shopping experiences for the community. You will focus on merchandising and processing freight, assisting with daily store operations, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards to drive store performance.

Experience in retail and management, strong communication, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms and floors.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment for customers and associates.
• Assist Store Manager with assigned duties.
• Process receipt/return of merchandise and manage freight flow.
• Stock merchandise needs, including frozen/refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floors are merchandise-ready and plan monthly layouts.
