Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team, focusing on merchandising and freight processing. You will assist with store functions and daily activities while upholding policies and safety.

You’ll help open/close procedures, protect assets, maintain store standards, and ensure a clean, welcoming environment for customers and staff. Additional duties may be assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and meet physical demands.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with customers and staff.
• Assist Store Manager with duties: process receipt/return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow and stock merchandise per productivity standards.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain clip strips and power panels.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
