Qualifications

• Expected graduation date December 2027 or May 2028.
• Ability to work at Lowe’s Store Support Center in Mooresville, NC for the duration of the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Your Impact

As a Merchandising Operations Intern at Lowe’s, you’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting the strategies, processes, and initiatives that help bring merchandising plans to life across Lowe’s stores and channels. You’ll work alongside business partners to analyze information, identify opportunities, coordinate projects, and support operational improvements that enhance the experience for both customers and associates.

Throughout the internship, you’ll gain exposure to how merchandising strategies move from planning to execution and how cross‑functional teams collaborate to deliver products and solutions to Lowe’s customers. Your work may support key initiatives focused on merchandising execution, process improvement, operational efficiency, reporting, and business performance.

This role is ideal for students who enjoy combining business strategy, analytics, problem-solving, and collaboration to solve real-world retail challenges.

This internship is based at Lowe’s Store Support Center – Mooresville (SSC‑M) in Mooresville, North Carolina. Our corporate campus provides an environment where interns can collaborate with business partners, build professional relationships, and gain exposure to the teams supporting Lowe’s stores and customers.

Throughout the summer, you’ll have opportunities to learn from merchandising professionals, participate in professional development experiences, network across the organization, and contribute to meaningful business initiatives.

What You Will Learn

• How merchandising strategies are developed, operationalized, and executed across Lowe’s business.
• How Merchandising Operations partners with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Store Operations, Finance, and other cross‑functional teams.
• How data and reporting are used to identify trends, measure performance, and support merchandising decisions.
• How operational processes influence product availability, execution, customer experience, and overall business performance.
• How to identify process improvement opportunities and develop recommendations based on business needs.
• How large‑scale retail initiatives are coordinated from planning through execution.
• How to organize and analyze business information using tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
• How to translate analysis and project findings into clear recommendations and compelling presentations for business partners and leadership.
• How to manage projects, priorities, timelines, and stakeholder communication within a fast‑paced retail organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Ability to work at Lowe’s Store Support Center in Mooresville, NC for the duration of the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Previous retail, merchandising, business, project management, or analytical experience through employment, internships, coursework, or student organizations.
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable business insights.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills.
• Curiosity about retail, merchandising trends, customer behavior, and business operations.
• Demonstrated initiative through internships, employment, leadership roles, campus organizations, volunteer activities, or other relevant experiences.
