Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Mexia, TX to join our store leadership team. You will support the Store Manager in directing a dynamic team and ensuring a strong focus on merchandising and freight processing.

You will be responsible for daily store operations, asset protection, policy adherence, and maintaining clean, inviting sales and stock areas. This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and information requests related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and team members.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow in line with productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective and merchandised.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
