Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a Merchandise Manager for the Grand Rapids area to drive merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards.

You will assist leadership in SOP adherence, ensure policy execution, and maintain a customer-ready environment with strong workload planning and stock control. The role emphasizes in-stock accuracy and effective floor leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum Type of Experience Required: 3+ years retail leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and company programs.
• Ensure execution of company policies and standards and hold team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution processes with timely unloading and efficient flow of merchandise.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with staffing alignment.
• Execute Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram (POG) execution and merchandising sets on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and product presentation.
• Support a clean, organized store environment including backroom and floor recovery.
• Manage inventory control, product accuracy, integrity, and stock movement.
• Execute ad sets, ensure pricing and signage are compliant and customer-focused.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with proper documentation and adjustments.
• Manage store damages procedures and shrink reduction.
• Train, coach, and develop team members and onboarding.
• Partner to maintain Asset Protection practices.
