Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Canton, MI is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to help the Store Manager lead a team and drive merchandising and freight processing. You will assist with all store functions, perform opening and closing, protect assets, and maintain cleanliness.

You will also coordinate freight, stock merchandise (including frozen and refrigerated), and plan monthly Sales Planners, while maintaining a positive, fast-paced store environment with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy and other communications.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms.
• Maintain professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen & refrigerated.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan and maintain clip strips and Power Panels with sales effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
