Dollar Tree in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team, focusing on merchandising and freight processing. You will help manage daily store operations, maintain cleanliness, and ensure an engaging customer experience.

Key responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, asset protection, policy adherence, stockroom maintenance, and executing monthly sales plans while delivering value to the community.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow and stock merchandise needs.
• Ensure sales floor is sales-effective and merchandise plans are executed.
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
