Dollar Tree Stores in Nanuet, NY seeks a Merchandise Assistant Manager to work with the Store Manager, leading a dynamic team and delivering positive community experiences through merchandising and freight processing.

You will assist with daily store functions, stockroom and sales floor upkeep, safety adherence, and the execution of corporate directives. The role requires strong communication, leadership, and physical stamina to handle duties in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent lifting and movement.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards
• Process all corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and related communications
• Maintain store cleanliness and presentable condition across areas including restrooms
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow per productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise, including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with items of focus
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
