Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. You will work alongside the Store Manager to lead a team of associates, focusing on merchandising and freight processing to deliver a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, asset protection, store upkeep, stock management for both frozen/refrigerated items, and executing monthly sales plans.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash."
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Stock merchandise needs including frozen & refrigerated items.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales-effective items.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
