Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager at our Springfield, IL location to join a dynamic team led by the Store Manager and to focus on merchandising and freight processing. You will help plan, stock, and display merchandise while maintaining store standards.

We value prior retail and management experience, strong communication and teamwork, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs as needed. This full-time role includes competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Assist Store Manager with duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of merchandise
• Manage freight flow and stock merchandise needs
