Job summary

The Scoular Company is seeking a Merchandising Assistant II in Overland Park, KS. The role focuses on accounting tasks for the trade units, processing rail shipments and settlements, and managing cash flow with the merchandising team.

You will support freight/logistics issues, maintain rail/vendor relations, and help train Merchandiser Assistants while contributing to process improvements and data accuracy across reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Customer-focused, credible and persuasive communication.
• Good problem solving and analytical thinking for issue resolution.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process rail shipments and ticket uploads daily and manage settlements timely.
• Handle daily cash receipts and follow up on receivables and unapplied cash.
• Assist merchandisers and customers with freight and accounting questions.
• Maintain positive rail/vendor relations and monitor cash flow/credit risk.
• Collaborate with teams to drive technology enhancements.
• Train new Merchandiser Assistants and support logistics from origin to destination.
• Monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Review AR/AP, Freight Analysis, and other reports to identify actions.
