Job summary

Total Wine & More in New York seeks a proactive Store Team Member to deliver exceptional customer service, manage inventory, fulfill online orders, and support curbside pickup or delivery when needed.

You'll greet customers, share product knowledge after training, and uphold safety and regulatory standards while contributing to a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in retail preferred and strict attention to accuracy.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

About the Role

All Store Team Members play an essential role in building our company brand by delivering excellent customer service. You will maximize product inventory and support online business operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience. While both part‑time and full‑time positions generally focus on merchandising responsibilities, you may also be assigned sales, front‑end or other responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maximize product inventory: process freight, organize and distribute inventory, pull and stock merchandise, build displays and end caps, place signage.
• Support digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in‑store and curbside pick‑up and delivery services, including driving and making deliveries if assigned.
• Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
• Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
• Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner, following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws (if delivery is added as an essential job function).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience, 1+ year in a retail setting (preferred).
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodations)

• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8–10 hours a day.
• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.
• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday.
