McClatchy Media Company is seeking a Merchandiser Lead to service products across multiple stores on an on-site basis in Lafayette, IN. Travel is required, with a 32–40 hour work week and competitive wage in the $18 per hour range, including travel time.

The role includes merchandising responsibilities, team leadership support, and strong emphasis on reliability and communication. Previous merchandising experience and proficiency with Movista, Word, and Excel are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record hours and other work details using designated systems.
• Communicate duties with store personnel and Supervisor before performing them.
• Lead and back-up Supervisor duties as needed; assist with payroll and reporting.

Position: Merchandiser Lead

On-site position: will service product in multiple stores and travel between them

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: LaFayette, IN

Reports To: Supervisor of Merchandising

Compensation:

• Competitive Wage $18 to include Travel time between accounts is paid.
• Retention and/or Referral Bonus after 3 months. See Program Details for eligibility.

Average hours per week: 32 to 40

Schedule:

• Assigned stores are serviced on designated weekdays according to the established schedule.

Travel: Travel expected up to 100% of the time to cover territory

Summary of Responsibilities: 75% Merchandising

• Work within a retail environment to effectively merchandise products by applying appropriate store and/or corporate Safely and efficiently replenish product. May assemble shelves/racks and display cases following measurement guidelines.
• Service all stores as scheduled within the allotted hours provided by Supervisor. Seek prior approval from Supervisor before working outside of scheduled hours.
• Contact Supervisor before working more than 10 hours in a workday or
• Accurately record work hours and other company-related information using designated
• Discuss duties requested by store personnel not listed herein with Supervisor before performing those

25% Team Leadership

• May train Merchandisers on appropriate merchandising
• Back up to Supervisor and fill in Supervisor duties, as May be assigned to approve payroll and run a variety of reports.
